Introduction Performing regular maintenance on your side sealer machine is essential to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of the equipment. This guide outlines the steps for maintaining your side sealer, including safety precautions and the tools required.
Required Tools
- Clean cloth
- Safety gloves
- Scissors
- Air blower
- Teflon tape
- High-temperature chain lubricant

- Avoid using non-recommended oils or lubricants.
Maintenance Procedure
Step 1: Heat the Knife
- Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
Step 2: Prep the Machine
- Use compressed air to blow around the machine, focusing on all moving parts to remove dust and debris.
Step 3: Clean the Knife
- Once the knife is heated, check for any plastic residue on the seal bar.
- If residue is present, wipe it down with a clean cloth while wearing safety gloves.
Step 4: Seal Pad Maintenance
- Inspect the Teflon tape on the seal pad.
- If the tape is burnt, remove it.
- Check the condition of the sealing pad. If it’s in good condition, proceed with Teflon tape replacement.
Step 5: Apply Teflon Tape
- Measure and apply new Teflon tape to the sealing pad.
- Trim any excess tape from the ends of the pad.
- Reattach the sealing pad in its original position.
Step 6: Shrink Tunnel Maintenance (If Applicable)
- Turn on the shrink tunnel and set the conveyor speed to maximum.
- Apply high-temperature chain lubricant evenly to the chain until it completes a full rotation.
- Repeat lubrication for the other chain.
- Note: Use only the recommended high-temperature chain lubricant.
