The photo eyes have two adjustments: sensitivity and Light/Dark mode. The sensitivity dial adjusts the range of detection. The dial has about 270 degrees of rotation- Min to Max. The Light/Dark (L/D) mode sets the output state of the sensor when it detects an object; it has about 90 degrees of rotation.
The Carton Monitoring sensor should be set to 'D' (Dark-ON mode) for detection...
When the sensor is set to Dark-On, the output only turns 'ON' (amber LED will illuminate on the sensor) when the sensor is blocked because 'the Carton is blocking the sensor' waiting to be pushed to clear cleared the sensor. if there are issues with the Carton not moving in the Hopper, make the following adjustments to the sensor.
Ensure the ELVS is not Running but is on.
Adjustments:
- Light/Dark Mode:
- Set to 'D' (Dark-ON mode)
- Set to 'D' (Dark-ON mode)
- Sensitivity:
- Adjust the dial to Min (amber LED will not false even if your hand passes in front of the sensor)
- place your hand slightly past the ideal detection distance.
- Rotate towards Max till the output turns 'ON' (amber LED will illuminate on the sensor)
- Adjust the dial to Min (amber LED will not false even if your hand passes in front of the sensor)
Issues:
- If the sensor will not focus on the correct point
- Replace the sensor.
- if the problem persists even after correcting the sensor
- Test the Cylinder by pressing the corresponding SOLENOID VALVE in the cabinet.
- If it fails to operate, troubleshoot the issue by exchanging the air with the SOLENOID VALVE of the opposite Cylinder.
- If the problem persists with the same SOLENOID VALVE, it needs replacement. If the Cylinder continues to malfunction, replace the Cylinder itself.
- Test the Cylinder by pressing the corresponding SOLENOID VALVE in the cabinet.
