INTRODUCTION
This article aims to provide technical insights into identifying and resolving problems that can arise during the operation of your ATFXU Machine. By understanding the potential causes of these issues and following the recommended steps, you can ensure the optimal functionality of your machine.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
In the course of operating your carton sealing machine, several challenges might arise. Let's delve into the potential causes of these challenges:
-
Carton Breakage During Flap Opening If the carton breaks when the front horns open the main flaps, it's likely because the front horns are positioned too low, and the front guide rollers are improperly set in terms of height. Adjusting these components correctly can rectify this issue.
-
Kicker Failure to close the rear Minor Flap The failure of the kicker to activate the back minor flap can result from insufficient air pressure within the machine or interruptions in the taping sequence. In such cases, a machine reset is necessary to restore proper functionality.
-
Lid Lifter Failures: A lid lifter that isn't operational may indicate factors such as inadequate air pressure, mispositioned PH3 sensors, a disengaged lifter switch, poorly adjusted lifter mechanism. Checking and addressing these elements can restore the lifter's functionality.
-
Box Jamming in Taping Area: If boxes become jammed in the taping area, the sealing section the sealing section may need to be readjusted or it was not setup correctly. Factors like incorrect height adjustment, improper Tape Head positioning, or inaccurate width adjustment could contribute to this problem.
-
Failure to Start / Loss of Run Signal: When the machine fails to start and an alarm activates, potential causes include an open main door, improper positioning of the PH4 sensor, or misalignment with the center of the box. These issues need to be resolved before the machine can operate.
-
Carton Collision with Rear Horns and Jamming: Cartons colliding with back horns and becoming jammed can result from incorrect horn adjustments and an inaccurate height setting of the back Tape Head. Adjusting these components is crucial for smooth operation.
-
Tape Head Failure to Cut Tape If the Tape Head isn't cutting the tape, factors such as incorrect height settings or a worn-out/dirty cutting blade might be the cause. Properly adjusting the height and ensuring the cleanliness of the cutting blade are essential for resolving this issue.
- Lid Falling of the rails: The lid can fall off rail for several reasons: incorrectly adjusted width and height, broken or missing lid support springs or hardware.
TROUBLESHOOT STEPS
Our troubleshooting steps are designed to guide you through the process of diagnosing and resolving the issues mentioned above:
-
Carton Breakage During Flap Opening
- Adjust the mast handle to achieve the correct height for proper flap folding.
- Fine-tune the position of the front guide rollers to align with 10-20mm below the scoreline of the box flaps.
- Adjust the front folding horns.
-
Kicker Failure to close the rear Minor Flap
- Verify the air regulator's pressure (4-6 bars, 60-85psi) .
- If there's no air, examine the air regulator.
- Reset the machine and engage the LS0 bottom switch. If the kicker activates, proceed with box operation.
- Verify PH4 sensor signal resets R11.
- If the kicker still doesn't activate, inspect the relay.
-
Lid Lifter Failures:
- Check the air regulator's pressure (4-6 bars) and ensure the bottom air nozzles direct air toward the bottom head's front contact roller.
- Reset the machine and confirm the PH3 sensor's red dot light is illuminated. Run a new box to confirm functionality.
- Verify PH4 sensor signal resets R6 & R7.
-
Box Jamming in Taping Area
- Elevate the top Tape Head by rotating the mast handle to clear jammed boxes.
- Verify proper positioning of both top and bottom Tape Heads.
- Ensure the box lid travels above the side metal guide plates.
-
Failure to Start / Loss of Run Signal:
- Ensure all doors are securely closed.
- Confirm proper PH4 sensor functioning by completing the tape sequence.
- Test the sensor by passing an object in front of it after a machine reset.
- Maintain sensor cleanliness to ensure consistent operation.
- Test or verify electrical continuity of Start and Stop contacts.
-
Carton Collision with Back Horns and Jamming
- Adjust the back mast to align with the carton size's appropriate height.
- Make precise adjustments for correct height alignment.
- Verify back horn positions and make necessary modifications.
-
Tape Head Failure to Cut Tape
1. Verify height and width, make adjustments if necessary.
2. Check the blade and rollers for tape residue, clean thoroughly.
3. Verify the tape head is functioning correctly
4. Verify the lid lifters are functioning properly. -
Tape Head Failure to Apply Tape
- Examine the top Tape Head's height and make required adjustments.
- Check the tape head for correct tape tension, tape threading and blade adjustment.
- Thoroughly clean the cutting blade and application rollers
- Ensure the lower air nozzle directs air toward the bottom head's front application roller.
- Perform tape head maintenance.
- Replace worn-out blades, springs, rollers, or hardware as needed.
CONCLUSION
By addressing the possible causes and following the troubleshoot steps outlined in this guide, you can effectively diagnose and resolve issues with your carton sealing machine.
