- Assembling 1.5” AC Tape Head
- Safety Guidelines
- Follow all safety guidelines.
- Ensure clothing is not loose.
- Tuck away any hanging pieces of clothing.
- Secure hair if needed.
- Wear long sleeves and pants.
- Wear close-toed shoes, preferably steel toes.
- Grab safety equipment (Safety Glasses and Gloves).
- 1.5” AC Tape Head Modification
- Remove the tape head from the machine or packaging.
- Remove all tape
- Place the tape head on a flat surface facing UP.
- Remove the side plate.
- Disconnect the Roller Arm spring (main spring).
- Remove the 2 springs connected to the Cutting arm assembly
- Remove all marked screws on the plate with a 10mm Wrench, as seen below:
- Lift the plate off the tape head and then modify it.
- Grab the 1.5” Rear Roller Hole Template Tool.
- It is 15.7mm in from R Hole
- It is 7mm from the bottom of the plate
- Place the tool Studs into X and R holes.
- Use a Marker or Punch to mark the center of the new hole, then Remove the Tool.
- Using a Drill to make a new hole, start with a 2mm Drill Bit, then go to a 6mm bit.
- Grab the 1.5” Rear Roller Hole Template Tool.
- Replace the cutting arm assembly
- Examine how the part is connected
- Lift the cutting arm assembly while pushing in the roller assembly, then work the part out.
- Replace the cutting arm assembly by pushing in the roller assembly and then working the part in.
- Check if the part smoothly rotates about the pivot point. If not, lubricate with Grease the pivot point.
- Place the plate back on.
- Tighten all screws using a 10mm Wrench and Loctite for best results except the screw for X, R, and S area.
- Flip the tape head to face Down
- Remove all marked screws on the plate with a 10mm Wrench as seen below:
- Grab the 1.5” Rear Roller Hole Template Tool.
- Place the tool Studs into X and R holes.
- Use a Marker or Punch to mark the center of the new hole, then Remove the Tool.
- Using a Drill to make a new hole, start with a 2mm Drill Bit, then go to a 6mm bit.
- Remove all marked screws on the plate with a 10mm Wrench as seen below:
- Adjust the rod to the 1.5” hole, then add screws and Loctite with Wrench.
- Attach tap extension
- Remove the roller at the XR or S point with 2 Wrenches.
- One is 10mm, and the other is 12mm.
- Now attach the extension on the inside of the plate at XR and S using a Wrench.
- Remove the roller at the XR or S point with 2 Wrenches.
- Attach a 1.5” roller to the extension using a wrench.
- Roller Arm Assembly will stop shorter
- Attach all springs
- Add Oil to the cushion.
- Remove the tape head from the machine or packaging.

- Inspection

Final inspection and prep before installing into the machine.
- Repeat step with the Blade Arm Pivot Point
- Repeatedly press the front and rear roller assembly to check for any rubbing sounds or interference with the arm link and cutter arm assembly.
- If there is any interference, adjust that point and, if necessary, use force to remove any interference. Then, repeat the test for interference.
- Now add tape to the tape head, ensure the tape is taping centered, and adjust the mandrel if needed.
- The Tape Head is now ready for use.
